Origins

Founded in 1998, BRIEFING set itself apart by choosing the United States as its manufacturing base—despite being a Japanese brand. From the start, production was entrusted to American factories specializing in military and tactical gear, supplying equipment to the U.S. military, law enforcement, and medical institutions.

Genuine

The MADE IN USA collection features 1050 denier ballistic nylon as its primary material, staying true to authentic military-grade standards. Rather than mimicking a tactical look, each piece is crafted in genuine military supply factories, using the same techniques developed for real-world use.

Authenticity

In the aftermath of September 11, 2001, the American factory producing BRIEFING bags was required to dedicate most of its capacity to military supply, forcing a temporary halt in BRIEFING’s production. Ironically, this moment served as a powerful reminder to buyers and media alike that BRIEFING bags were being made in true military-grade facilities.

Signature Color

BRIEFING’s signature black color was born out of necessity. Early on, the brand lacked the scale to meet the factory’s dye lot requirements, leading to the use of black 1050 denier ballistic nylon and webbing already stocked for military use. What began as a practical decision ultimately became the defining color of the brand.

Personality

While built with authentic materials and construction methods, BRIEFING bags are thoughtfully adapted for modern use. Prioritizing utility and function over fashion, this design philosophy remains unchanged and continues to produce gear loved by users around the world.
